Warrah Day Services are for adults with intellectual disabilities based on the methods
deriving from the holistic psychology of Rudolf Steiner.
This service developed as a result of the Commonwealth/State Disability Agreement in 1993.
Day Services operate from four units which are Waaia (focus on leisure and therapy), Yandina (Farming
and Gardening), Towilla (Living Skills and Community Access) and
Merriwa (for school leavers - Transition/ATLAS
Vocational Training Program).
Warrah Day Services supports adults with
intellectual disabilities in meaningful planned activities.
We base our service on the individual aspirations
of our clients. We emphasise client choice, participation,
communication, and community integration. Our objectives are:
- To provide cost effective and relevant programs
that address individual goals and maintain the "Standards
of the NSW Disability Services Act 1993".
- To access generic community services for social
skills development, educational and recreational purposes.
- To establish a network within the community
that will assist consumers with integration, choice and social
development.
- To provide a positive image of the service
within the general community.
