Warrah School is a private special school
for children with intellectual disabilities.
Warrah offers placements for day pupils. Enrolments
for 2008 are available. For more information about Warrah School go to the
School
pages.
Enrolment Criteria
Selection for enrolment is assessed on an individual basis. We
accept all children we feel could benefit from our Steiner
methods and style of education.
Enrolment assesses both the requirements of the
individual child and the suitability with other children in a
classroom. The question of exclusion would arise where aggressive or
challenging behaviour is not likely to be remedied within our
educational setting and/or if the welfare of other children poses an
issue of concern.
Regular liason and discussion with parents is
encouraged to view I.E.P.s (Individual Educational Programs) with
all teachers and therapists. Daily communication books assist the
familiarity with parents of the school's activities and the progress
of the students.
There are also some cases where the particular
needs of an individual child cannot be met within our guidelines as
a general therapeutic school setting. Some children require more
medical or specialised expertise with basic skill programs which may
exceed the boundaries of our services.
Warrah retains the option to review and assess all
children at any time, even after a trial period, to determine if
they are well placed and happy or not within our school services.
