"Warrah" derives its name from an Aboriginal word meaning "it's raining". Rain is an essential element for growth. The image of the rain-cycle is one of change and transformation.

Warrah - History

Website Disclaimer

In 1965 a small group of friends formed the Warrah Trust, and Karl and Hannelor Kaltenbach commenced the preparation of educational and vocational programs at Warrah, based on the principles and methods of Dr. Rudolf Steiner.

In February 1965 Karl, with a small group of teenagers with disabilities, began to clear the land at 20 Harris Road Dural in preparation for a vegetable garden. During that time friends came together and formed the Warrah Society. Four years later, with financial assistance from both NSW and Commonwealth governments, the first residential cottages were built on the Dural site.
