Warrah Special School Kitchen Fit-out Complete Thanks To FDC

In 2015, FDC took on a project to create a central teaching kitchen at Warrah Special School. It will enable students to develop valuable life skills. That project is now completed and the Warrah Special School would like to thank FDC and all of the other amazing contractors who made this project possible.

FDC have been working hard with Warrah Special School, Dural, during 2015 to convert a large storeroom within the school building to a fully accessible teaching kitchen.

FDC’s relationship with Warrah was born through Cherrybrook and West Pennant Hills Rotary club members and FDC staff. Warrah Special School based in Dural in Sydney’s North West is in the planning stages of an exciting project that will see the development of a full teaching kitchen that will be used to teach students with special needs key life skills such as nutrition and cooking.

With an estimated value of over $70,000 Warrah has benefited from the experience, skills and generosity of FDC staff and subcontractors who have all donated their time and supplies to the project. Warrah Chief Executive Officer, Georgina Michaelis says : “We are so appreciative of FDC’s generosity in delivering a teaching kitchen for us. It will add so much to the work we can do with our students”.

Warrah includes group homes for adults who need support in their daily lives; adult Day Services for adults in meaningful planned activities & skills development; Warrah Special School for day pupils K-12 and Warrah Biodynamic Farm which is a social enterprise.
