Part of a broad range of programs and activities funded by the State Government is the Transition/Vocational Training or ATLAS Program. This is intended for school leavers to provide community integration and vocational training for their transition into adult life. 

Merriwa located at 676A Old Northern Road, Dural, provides this service. It offers a quality service which encourages and actively supports each individual to develop to their greatest potential by providing a transition from school to adult life through community access, therapies and work experience. 

These programs are tailored to each person's abilities and requirements. Depending on the client's goals and needs other Day Service units such as Waaia, Yandina and Towilla may be more appropriate placements.

Eligibiliy Criteria

  • School leavers over 18 years of age.
  • Primary disability is intellectual.
  • Requiring support to access community, develop vocational, living and social skills.
  • Compatible support needs to that of other clients.
  • Able to receive appropriate levels of support within the resources of the unit.
