Title
Warrah Spring Fair Preparations
Date:
Saturday 10 September 2016, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

On Saturday the 10th of September between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm the Warrah Society based in North West Sydney, will host its third annual Warrah Spring Fair. Featuring a fun filled family day of music, boutique markets, fresh biodynamic and organic produce, an organic BBQ, international food, an art exhibition, white elephant stall and heaps of fun activities in the Warrah Kids Corner, the Fair should be part of your Spring calendar! Tours of Warrah’s Biodynamic Farm run on the day. Information about Warrah’s services is also available, including Warrah Special School.

Warrah’s Spring Fair is about our local community. First established in Dural in the 1960’s, many people say that Warrah is ‘Sydney’s best kept secret!’ We think it’s a great opportunity for locals, friends and families to acquaint themselves with Warrah and its unique offering as a local community service, but also to have a great day out.

The Fair also aims to raise funds to support some of Warrah’s innovative projects. A current project is the fit-out of a Farm Training Room - equipped to deliver ‘foodie’ courses to people with disability that feature Warrah’s freshly grown farm produce. All funds raised from the Warrah Spring Fair will once more be supporting people with a disability

Help us spread the word by sharing the following information:

Wanted White Elephant Stall Donations

A White Elephant – or second-hand – stall consists of selling pre-loved toys, bric-a-brac and household items, and is based on the idea that one person’s trash is another’s treasure. This year we are after the following items which are both good quality and in excellent condition: Books, Wooden Toys, Bric a Brac, Small Furniture Items, Soft Furnishing and Kitchenware. Please note that we cannot accept any electrical items.

Wanted Raffle Prize Donations

We are currently gathering a variety of raffle prizes and donations from local businesses to go towards our prize pool. All items will be drawn on the day. All monies raised from the Warrah Spring Fair raffle tickets sold will once more be supporting people with a disability. Warrah has deductible gift recipient status (DGR) from the Australian Taxation Office. This means all financial donations to Warrah are eligible for a tax deductable receipt. All contributors names will be mentioned and thanked in our programme and other publicity associated with the Warrah Spring Fair. If you are able to help please send you donation direct to the Warrah Society at the address below.

Applications for volunteers are now open.

The Warrah Society warmly invites our local community members, friends, family and staff members to apply for a variety of designated Volunteer Roles at our annual Warrah Spring Fair. All volunteers will be provided with detailed role description and instructions. The generosity and goodwill of volunteers will help to raise much needed funds to help support our services and promote all of the wonderful things that we do here at the Warrah Society.

Applications for Market Stalls are now open.

We are delighted to invite local business to apply for a market stall at the Warrah Spring Fair. We are looking for a variety of market stall holders who deliver products that aligned with our unique set of values here at Warrah. We will endeavour, where possible, to limit similar producers of any particular goods to ensure that this event is a successful day for all who are involved.

Applications for Community Groups, Performers, Buskers and Entertainers are now open.

We are currently recruiting a variety of volunteer Buskers and Entertainers to help us make this day one to remember. The Warrah Spring Fair will feature a Community Main Stage and all registered and approved Volunteer Community Groups, Performers, Buskers and Entertainers will be invited to perform at a designated time on stage throughout the day. All Volunteer Community Groups, Buskers and Entertainers will be provided with a market stall space free of charge.

Please contact our Community Development Manager for further information regarding White Elephant Stall Donations, Raffle Prize Donations and Applications for Warrah Spring Fair Market Stalls, Community Groups, Performers, Buskers and Entertainers and Volunteer Roles:
