Warrah's Community Open Day 2015
The Warrah Community Open Day 2015, held on the 12th of September, was a great success. With lots on offer there was fun for the whole family. Everybody who attended enjoyed exploring what Warrah has to offer including the following:
Warrah Farm tours at 10:30am and 2pm; where visitors were guided by Farm Manager, Rob Greatholder, to see how Sydney’s ONLY certified biodynamic farm operates. Search for eggs freshly laid by Warrah’s organic free-range chickens, a task usually off limits to visitors.
Warrah Special School hosted a talk & tour at 11:30am. Visitors got the chance to speak directly to Principal Jan Fowler and teachers as well as see and learn first-hand about Warrah’s unique approach to education for children with disabilities.
Visitors were treated to music performances from 1pm, with the Jacaranda Bush Band kicking off the Bush Dance which commenced at 1:30pm to celebrate Spring Festival!
In between times there was plenty to do! Boutique market stalls ran all day featuring homewares, gifts, jewellery, children’s fashion, organic & homemade skincare products, art, specialty food and drink plus our own biodynamic produce.
Activities for the kids included face painting, art & craft activities as well as prize giveaways throughout the day.
